Regulations
The President of the Committee (EC) is appointed by the CEU/UAL Board of Directors.
The President will appoint a Vice-President and another Member.
The EC will receive requests for an opinion from researchers or students with the agreement of their supervisor, which will be sent to all members of the Commission so that they can give their opinion within twenty calendar days.
The Evaluation Request Form must be used for all requests for evaluation of research projects submitted to the EC.
Projects must explicitly safeguard all research procedures and methodology from an ethical point of view.
The EC’s assessment will be based on CICEE’s Code of Ethics.
The EC’s approval is considered to have been obtained once two members have given a positive opinion.
The EC’s role is to assess purely ethical aspects, not necessarily thematic or methodological aspects, unless the subject matter or methodology of the research conflicts with ethical aspects to be considered.
Once the procedure referred to in the previous paragraph has been completed, the EC will communicate the committee’s approval to the researcher or student and the supervisor, and the decision will be recorded centrally.
If questions arise that require reformulation of any aspect of the research, these will be sent to the researcher or student, and the EC will await the respective change so that they can be resubmitted for approval.
